Roger Beuchat finished third in the Swiss Hill Climb Nationals in his home region - the Jura mountains. After having had a few top finishes in this kind of event, Beuchat was hoping to claim the title this time.
Sven Schelling, ex Duathlon U23 World Champion proved to be faster and took his second consecutive title ahead of another Jurassian rider, Laurent Beuret of Pro Continental Team Carmiooro-NGC.
CKT - Champion System rider Joris Boillat (he's a native of the Jura, too ...) finished 8th. |

The last weekend of June is traditionally the date for the National Championships almost everywhere in the World. The biggest hope for CKT riders to win a national title were in Estonia. Jaan Kirsipuu andMart Ojavee were obviously hoping for a sprint opportunity, but Pro Tour rider Kalle Krit and ex Pro Tourrider Kanel Tangert rode away from everybody and secured first and second place. Jaan Kirsipuu was the best of the rest and won the bronze medal ahead of Mart Ojavee. Roger Beuchat showed a very active race in Kriegstetten, where the Swiss held their National Championships. He was in a 6-men-breakaway that was caught with just under 2 laps to go. He still finished 12th. The national title was won for the 3rd time by Martin Elmiger (AG2r-La Mondiale).

The second day of the Estonian weekend of racing was less successful for the team. Even though CKTriders were represented in most breakaways, they missed the right one. Roger Beuchat rode in 11th, still picking up some UCI points, Holger Burkhardt (20th) and Joris Boillat (22nd) were the next best of the team. The race was won by the young Estonian Tanel Kangert. |

A team of Jaan Kirsipuu, Marto Ojave, Roger Beuchat, Joris Boillat, Serge Herz an Holger Burkhardt take part in a weekend of racing in Estonia. The first race, a UCI 1.1 Europe Tour event was held between the Estonian capital of Tallinn and Tartu in Eastern Estonia. The CKT missed out on the first UCI win of this season only by one place. Frenchman Denis Flauhaut (Team ISD) was the only one to beat Jaan in a bunch sprint of about 60 riders. Tomorrow's race takes place in Tartu on a circuit. It belongs to the 1.1 UCI category as well. On Sunday the riders will join a cycle marathon with some 3500 participants. |
